Leanne Morgan | Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard

Open with a direct, slightly absurd instruction or observation that makes the viewer feel they entered an active conversation.

Have the other person or host respond by joining the bit instead of explaining the video.

Use a teasing interruption, nickname, or affectionate reaction to establish chemistry and make the exchange feel unscripted.

Add a strange, personal description or exaggerated reaction that reveals character through humor.

Interrupt the conversation with a small practical problem. This creates the sense that the audience is watching a real moment, not a polished opening.

End the cold open with a simple challenge and an exaggerated complaint. This creates a comic bridge into the main subject.
