The script — as said out loud
On today's episode of Psychotically Long Walks, we're going from Williamsburg to Washington Heights. Because I'm insane, I wanted to make this a little bit harder. So instead of going over the Williamsburg Bridge, I decided to loop down through Dumbo and go over the Manhattan Bridge. I also never come to Dumbo, so I wanted to push myself to explore a little more. It wouldn't be an urban hike if I didn't have to find a bridge to climb over. At the one hour mark, I made it to the Manhattan Bridge and look at all these views. I love how there's so many different ways to pass over the water. You get to see so much of the city that you wouldn't otherwise get exposed to the bridge. Let me out in Chinatown. So I walked up Bowie and cut west because I decided, you know what, I probably need a coffee for the rest of this walk. Grab grabbed my coffee and then proceeded to Washington Square park where I hit the two hour mark. Then I decided just to go up fifth Avenue because it was so lovely. I also wanted to see a lot of sights, so I passed Union Square, Madison Square park, and then I saw the Empire State Building. It never gets old. I continued trekking and passed the New York Public Library, which is one of my favorite places in New York. This stretch is so great because you really get to see so many New York City landmarks in such a short period of time. At the three hour mark, I finally made it to Central Park. For this particular walk I wanted to take advantage of all the green spaces that Manhattan has, so I decided to try to walk through Central park as much as I could. And then I ended up exiting at 77th and I continued the the way on the side of the park. I made it to the tip of Central park at the four hour mark and I wanted to keep it green so I decided to hop over to Morningside park, which is my second favorite park in Manhattan. At this point my phone started to die, so I decided, you know what, I'm just going to wander. I made it to Harlem so we were going in the right direction. It also randomly got very magical and felt like Hogwarts all of a sudden. I then somehow ended up in Riverside park very momentarily. Look at these views. But then I went eastward so I could see more of the city and I kept walking until I hit hour five and I was finally in Washington Heights. From Williamsburg to Washington Heights. This was a crazy one. I'll see you guys on next psychotically long walk.
